Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Macon.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Macon Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

I enjoyed the event on Sunday. I learned a lot about the functions of many of the dials on my camera which I handy understood prior to to the class. The instructor spent the appropriate amount of time with me during the class. He was particularly patient in explaining which allowed me to learn but understand. Unfortunately it rained which placed some limitations on what we could do. Overall I enjoyed the class.

Michael Lemay was a truly impressive teacher. His knowledge of photography is unmatched. He discussed the science of photography from its infancy to what it has become in our now technology-driven age. He also covered all the features of the modern digital camera and how to use them to express what you see through the camera lens. I'm a wannaba amateur photographer and have done some research in the photography field. Mr. LeMay has given me a better understanding of the mechanics of photography. I hope I get the chance to learn more from him in another class in the future. I highly recommend this beginner's photography class taught by Michael LeMay.

Title or Location: Wild Daisy farm, Molena Ga
The people that own the farm opened up a weekend people to come in to explore their gardens. There were no professional cameras allowed only cell phones. There were so many wild flowers, sunflowers and a little bit of lavender not as much due to all the rain. It's a wedding venue and it's very pretty!

I?m a graduate of Wesleyan College, so I go to the lake at Wesleyan quite often to take pictures. When I took this picture, I noticed the tree to the left of the steeple actually is shaped like a steeple.

I was over the moon from the start of shooting this shot to the final edit.It was my first time when I finally learned how to use a tracker after owning the tracker for one year. I was stunned after seeing those images. Never had a chance to shoot that long exposure, but found it was absolutely worth it.I was with my partner and friends at Pandanus on Litchfield, and definitely was thinking of shooting in a conventional style. So, I definitely wasn?t prepared. Also, the moon was going to

Title or Location: Near Goukdsboro, PA
Originally showed up at Gouldsboro State Park at sunrise to get a backlit, misty shot of the island but when I got there, NO mist, and enough boats on the lake to walk across!Quickly decided to take a backroad to another favorite spot nearby, and slammed on the brakes as I was driving over a small bridge when I looked to the right and saw THIS scene. Finding it was sheer luck, but as always, just getting out there at first light is half the battle. Made this one standing right on the bridge.
